Come down to the Crowley Lake Community Center and enjoy the tastes of summer! Participants will entice you with their best chili and you can vote for the one who takes home the trophy! There will also be a raffle that is giving away some epic prizes!

Raffle tickets: $1 for one raffle ticket. $5 gets you 6 tickets, $10 gets you 12 tickets, $20 gets you 24 tickets, etc.

If you are planning to be a chili challenge participant and show the town that your chili is king PLEASE READ THESE IMPORTANT DETAILS!

• You must first REGISTER to be a participant by clicking the link above, "Participant Registration". You will not be able to participate if you do not register at least 2 weeks ahead of time. $20 for Challenge Participation

• Your chili MUST be prepared at the Crowley Lake Community Center per the Mono County Health Department. Ingredients must be combined on-site, and meat may not be pre-cooked in any way. If you have any questions, please call me 760.914.3219

• The Community Center will open on Sunday, August 6th at 8am. Participants and volunteers can arrive at that time to prepare their chili, set up their presentation table, and volunteers can help set up the event. Tasting starts at high noon.

• There are 6 stove burners and a hot flat top surface in the kitchen for preparing your chili. Please bring your own crock pot, burners, ladle and cooking utensils, pot holders, ingredients, and whatever else you need to prepare your chili. We will provide extension cords and power strips, a presentation table with tablecloth, chairs, bowls (if guests want to purchase an entire bowl of your fabulous chili), tasting cups, spoons, and napkins. Am I missing anything?

• Voting will be done by all guests of the event. They will be looking (or tasting!) for color, aroma, consistency, taste, and aftertaste. To vote, each guest will receive ONE pinto bean upon entry and will place the bean in the cup of their favorite chili. There will be one bean collection cup on each participants table for the voting. Two designated people will tally the votes while the raffle is going on. Award Ceremony will be held after the raffle.
